Eara Hearing 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty
At Eara Hearing, we’re committed to providing reliable support for your hearing aids. Our 1-year manufacturer warranty covers repairable damages to your device under normal use. Below is a comprehensive guide to understanding what is covered, how to initiate repairs, and what constitutes damage beyond repair.
Warranty Definitions
- Damage: Damage that is minor or repairable under the warranty, allowing the unit to be restored to full functionality.
- Damaged Beyond Repair: Situations where the device is irreparably damaged, making it impossible to restore to working condition. Examples include excessive water exposure, pet damage, or incomplete pieces of the hearing aid.
- Lost: A unit that is no longer in possession of the owner and cannot be recovered.
Steps to Initiate a Repair
- Contact Us: To begin a repair request, contact Eara Hearing at [support@earahearing.com] or [800-933-0885].
- Receive an RMA Number: Once your request is approved, you will be issued a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Include this number inside your package to facilitate processing.
- Package the Device Carefully: Securely package the device for shipment to prevent additional damage. Eara Hearing is not responsible for shipping expenses, and shipping costs to Eara Hearing are the user’s responsibility.
- Evaluation and Repair: Upon receipt, the device will be evaluated, repaired and returned within an average of 7-10 business days (excluding holidays or transport delays). If covered under warranty, we will repair and return the unit to you at no additional cost.
What the Warranty Covers
The following are examples of damages and issues that can typically be repaired under warranty:
- External Scuffs or Scratches: Minor scratches or scuffs on the outer shell.
- Broken Receiver: Issues with the receiver that affect sound delivery.
- Wax Clogging: Blockages from earwax buildup affecting sound quality.
- Unit Malfunctions: Internal issues causing the unit to malfunction during normal use.
- Battery Malfunction: Issues with the hearing aid’s rechargeable battery that prevent it from holding a charge.
- Portable Charger Malfunction: Problems with the portable charging case that prevent it from effectively charging the hearing aids.
Damage Beyond Repair
In cases where the unit is damaged beyond repair, replacement may be required. Damage beyond repair includes, but is not limited to:
- Severe Damage: Examples include the device being chewed by a pet, soaked in water, or impacted beyond the point of repair.
- Tampering: Any user modification, removal, or tampering with parts not intended for removal.
- Partial Units: Returning only pieces of the device, which cannot be restored to full functionality.
Such instances will incur a partial loss charge for replacement as these cannot be restored to working condition.
Loss Policy and Replacement Options
If the unit is damaged beyond repair or lost, and you have purchased our Eara Loss Policy, please contact us by phone or email. We will confirm your coverage and the replacement cost for a refurbished pair of Explore Li+ hearing aids will be $150. Replacement units will continue under the original 1-year warranty but are not eligible for additional loss coverage or a second loss policy.
For those without the Eara Loss Policy, the cost to replace both units with a refurbished pair is $300 for a one-time loss. Replacement units will continue under the original 1-year warranty but are not eligible for additional loss coverage or a second loss policy.
