Lexie Hearing customers recently received an important notice regarding the future of the company.
According to the customer communication, Lexie Hearing’s parent company, LXE Hearing, has begun winding down its U.S. operations after efforts to restructure the business and pursue strategic transactions were unsuccessful.
This does not mean that existing Lexie hearing aids will immediately stop working. However, the announcement creates understandable concerns about future customer service, warranty coverage, replacement parts, app availability, and long-term product support.
Here is what current Lexie Hearing customers should know—and what to consider when looking for a dependable OTC hearing aid alternative.
Is Lexie Hearing Going Out of Business?
Lexie Hearing’s announcement states that its parent company is winding down the U.S. business.
That language is more precise than saying Lexie has suddenly closed or declared bankruptcy. The company is entering a transition period rather than ending every service immediately.
LXE Hearing was created in 2025 through the merger of Eargo and hearX, the company behind Lexie Hearing. At the time, the combined company planned to operate the Eargo and Lexie brands under one organization.
Based on the notice sent to customers, LXE Hearing was unable to establish a viable path for continuing its U.S. operations and has now started an organized wind-down.
Will Lexie Hearing Aids Continue to Work?
According to Lexie’s customer notice, existing hearing aids should continue to provide their core hearing amplification and functionality.
The Lexie mobile app is also continuing to operate for now. The app currently remains available through Google Play and provides controls for volume, listening environments, sound adjustments, setup, and personalization.
However, Lexie has not guaranteed that the app will remain available indefinitely.
The company says it is developing a long-term transition plan for its applications and support services. Customers should receive more information before changes occur.
Current Lexie users should consider taking these steps now:
- Make sure the Lexie app is installed on the phone you use.
- Confirm that your hearing aids are paired and functioning properly.
- Update your email address with Lexie.
- Save copies of receipts, warranty information, serial numbers, and order confirmations.
- Request troubleshooting assistance while support remains available.
- Order needed domes, wax guards, tips, or replacement parts soon.
- Submit any active warranty claim before the current transition period ends.
Do not delete the Lexie app from your phone unless directed to do so. If it later becomes unavailable from an app store, downloading it again could become difficult.
How Long Will Lexie Customer Support Remain Available?
The notice states that Lexie customer-service representatives will remain available through at least September 15, 2026.
During this period, the support team is expected to continue assisting with:
- Product troubleshooting
- Eligible refunds
- Active warranty claims
- Replacement parts, subject to inventory
- Questions about existing Lexie hearing aids
- Updates to customer contact information
Lexie has said that it is evaluating options for support after this date, but future service has not yet been guaranteed.
Customers should therefore avoid waiting until the final weeks of the transition period to request assistance.
What Happens to Lexie Hearing Aid Warranties?
Lexie says it will continue processing eligible warranty claims submitted through September 15, 2026.
